COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (Engineering Management) program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to lead complex engineering projects and manage technology-driven organisations. In the first year, students complete seven core courses, which cover essential aspects of management, engineering, and systems integration. These include Building Quality Organisations and Leadership, Sustainable Engineering Systems and Environment, Management of Technology, System Engineering Principles, Integrated Logistics Support Management, Risk Management and Feasibility, and Engineering Economic Strategy. In addition, students choose one elective from options such as International Engineering Management, Performance Management Foundations, Logistics Engineering and Systems, or a Professional Experience Postgraduate course, allowing them to tailor their studies to their professional interests and career goals.In the second year, the program focuses on project management, research skills, and advanced engineering management principles. Students complete Project Management and Research Methods in Engineering, followed by a choice of one course from the previous electives to deepen their expertise. They also have the opportunity to select a University Postgraduate Elective, providing flexibility to explore interdisciplinary topics or emerging areas of interest within engineering and management.A key component of the program is the Masters Research Project, which can be undertaken as a single 48-credit course or split into two 24-credit parts. This project allows students to apply their learning to real-world engineering challenges, develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and produce original research or practical solutions.Graduates of this program are prepared for leadership roles in engineering, manufacturing, technology, and logistics sectors. They gain the professional competencies needed to manage teams, optimise operations, evaluate risks, and implement innovative solutions in complex organisational environments. The combination of technical, managerial, and research skills ensures that graduates can take on senior positions, lead multidisciplinary projects, and contribute to the strategic growth and operational excellence of engineering organisations worldwide.
