COURSE CURRICULUM
The Master of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics) program provides a comprehensive pathway for students to develop advanced technical expertise and professional skills in a wide range of electrical and electronic engineering domains. In the first year, students begin with a core course in Research Methods in Engineering, equipping them with essential skills for analysis, problem-solving, and project design. They then select a combination of specialized courses, covering key areas such as applied analytics, circuit and system simulation, digital system design, digital signal processing, network engineering, electrical energy conversion, industrial automation, and mobile and satellite communications systems. Additional elective courses allow students to gain deeper knowledge in emerging fields such as optical fibre technology, real-time systems, control systems, biomedical devices, microsystems, semiconductor fabrication, power systems, wireless sensor networks, and professional engineering practice.In the second year, students undertake a substantial Masters Research Project, which can be completed as a single 48-credit project or divided into two 24-credit components, providing an opportunity to engage in original research and practical applications in their chosen specialisation. Alongside the research project, students select advanced courses from an extensive list to further refine their skills in areas such as network design and management, radar and RF systems, digital signal processing, control systems, renewable energy, high-voltage engineering, power electronics, industrial automation, and more. This combination of core, elective, and research components ensures that graduates develop both technical mastery and professional competencies, including teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving.Graduates of this program are prepared to take on roles in diverse industries such as electrical and electronic engineering, power generation and distribution, telecommunications, aerospace, manufacturing, resources, and defence. The program equips students to work at the cutting edge of technology, addressing complex engineering challenges, designing innovative systems, and contributing to research and development initiatives across multiple sectors.
