COURSE CURRICULUM
The Master of Engineering (Aerospace) is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of aerospace engineering principles, materials, and systems, while also allowing for flexibility through elective options. In the first year, students complete 72 credit points of compulsory courses that lay the foundation for advanced aerospace study. These courses include system engineering principles, aerospace materials, thermofluids and propulsion systems, aerodynamics and flight performance, advanced aircraft structural analysis, and flight dynamics and control. Together, these subjects provide the technical knowledge and analytical skills necessary for understanding the performance, design, and operation of modern aircraft. In addition to these core courses, students choose 24 credit points from a list of elective options, allowing them to tailor their studies to specific interests or emerging areas in aerospace engineering. In the second year, students continue with 24 credit points of core courses, including research methods in engineering and aerospace design and optimisation, which focus on enhancing problem-solving, research, and analytical skills essential for innovative engineering solutions. An additional 24 credit points are selected from the option list, providing further specialisation and the opportunity to explore advanced topics of personal or professional interest. The program culminates in a major research component, where students undertake either a single 48-credit-point Masters Research Project or a two-part project comprising Masters Research Project Part 1 and Part 2. This research experience enables students to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to complex aerospace engineering challenges, developing expertise in design, analysis, and optimisation. Overall, the program equips graduates with the skills to pursue careers in aerospace design, research, development, and engineering leadership, fostering innovation and professional competence in both industry and academia.
