COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Architecture program is designed to build upon the foundational skills and knowledge acquired in undergraduate architectural studies, advancing students’ capabilities in architectural design, theory, and research. Throughout the program, students will refine their creative and technical expertise while engaging with contemporary architectural practices and global design challenges. The course structure encourages critical thinking, innovation, and the exploration of design solutions that address environmental, social, and technological issues within the built environment. The program integrates a diverse range of subjects, including architectural history, professional practice, and advanced design studios, to develop students into confident, adaptable, and forward-thinking professionals.In the first year, students undertake courses such as Architecture Design Studio 7 and 8, The History of Now, and Architecture Advanced Technology, which expand their understanding of design processes and architectural concepts. They also engage with professional practice courses that introduce them to real-world considerations, project management, and client relationships, ensuring they are well-prepared for professional registration and practice. Design electives provide opportunities for students to tailor their learning based on specific interests in emerging areas of architecture and design innovation.In the second year, the program deepens students’ architectural knowledge through advanced studios and research-based learning. Courses such as Architecture Design Studio 9 and the Architecture Major Project challenge students to synthesize theory and practice in complex, self-directed design projects. The inclusion of electives allows further exploration into specialized design areas, while the Architecture Professional Practice 2 course emphasizes the ethical, legal, and managerial aspects of the profession.
