COURSE CURRICULUM

The program structure is designed to build strong foundations and advanced expertise in construction, property, and project management over four years. In Year One (96 credit points), students complete compulsory onboarding modules covering core areas such as Introduction to Buildings, Introduction to Property, Project Management Concepts, Construction Processes, Property and Capital Markets, Communications for Built Environment Professionals, Sustainability, and Techniques for Project Planning and Management, establishing a broad understanding of the built environment industry. In Year Two (72 credit points plus electives), students progress into more specialised study, including Built Environment Law, Project Management Processes, Management Fundamentals, Quality Management, Project Administration, and Project Management Domains, along with selected program options or university electives to tailor learning. Year Three (72 credit points plus electives) focuses on professional practice and advanced skills through subjects like Professional Practice in Project Management, Project Risk Management, Leadership, Procurement Management, Project Planning and Communications, and Research Methods for the Built Environment, supported by additional electives. In Year Four (84 credit points), students undertake advanced and capstone-level learning through courses such as Advanced Project Management, Managing Complex Projects, Program and Portfolio Management, Research Practice, and the Project Management Capstone, which integrates all learning into real-world application. The program emphasizes practical knowledge, leadership, research, and strategic project delivery skills for careers in construction and project management.
