COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Nuclear Medicine (Medical Radiations) is a comprehensive four-year program designed to equip students with the theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and professional experience required to excel in the field of nuclear medicine. In the first year, students are introduced to the foundational principles of medical radiations and human biosciences through courses such as Medical Radiations Physics, Foundations of Professional Practice, and Introduction to Human Biosciences. They also begin their specialization with Nuclear Medicine 1 and 2, gaining an understanding of imaging technologies, radiation principles, and patient care, alongside exploring research methods in health sciences. In the second year, the program builds upon this foundation with advanced learning in pathology, communication, and clinical practice. Students undertake Nuclear Medicine Practice 1 and 2, expanding their technical competence while developing essential skills in interpreting images and managing clinical procedures. Courses like Introduction to Pathology and Communication Skills for Health Professionals further enhance their understanding of disease processes and patient interaction.During the third year, students engage in advanced nuclear medicine studies, focusing on imaging applications, health psychology, and hands-on clinical experience. Courses such as Nuclear Medicine Practice 3 and 4, Advanced Imaging Applications, and Preparation for Professional Practice prepare students for the challenges of real-world healthcare environments. They also have the opportunity to choose an elective to broaden their academic perspective. The final year is dedicated to integrating theory with practice through extensive clinical placements and research projects. Courses like Nuclear Medicine Supervised Clinical Practice, Transitioning to Nuclear Medicine Clinical Practice, and a final-year Project enable students to demonstrate professional readiness.
