COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of intercultural, social, and political dynamics on a global scale. In the first year, students complete six core courses that establish a foundation in globalisation, history, migration, political economy, intercultural communication, and critical thought in social and political contexts. This first-year curriculum equips students with analytical and communication skills essential for understanding complex global issues. Alongside these core courses, students select two language courses, enhancing their cross-cultural competence and preparing them to engage effectively in diverse international environments.In the second year, students continue to build on this foundation through three core courses focusing on global careers, global governance, and international law, and the fundamentals of social research. These courses provide practical and theoretical knowledge that supports the development of skills required for careers in international relations, diplomacy, development, and policy-making. Students also continue their language studies by completing two additional language courses and further explore their interests through three courses chosen from the program option list, allowing for tailored learning that aligns with personal and professional goals.The third year is focused on practical application and experiential learning. Students undertake a global research project, addressing real-world problems with independent research and critical analysis. They also participate in a global internship, gaining hands-on experience in international or intercultural professional settings. Finally, the Global Challenges course engages students in the study of contemporary global issues, fostering problem-solving, strategic thinking, and interdisciplinary approaches to complex social and political challenges. By the end of the program, graduates are well-prepared to work in diverse global contexts, equipped with strong research, language, and professional skills, and ready for careers in international organisations, NGOs, government, and other fields requiring global awareness and intercultural competence.
