COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Technology program provides students with a comprehensive education in programming, cybersecurity, networking, software engineering, and emerging technologies, preparing graduates for professional and innovative roles in the IT industry. In the first year, students complete 96 credit points across core subjects including Java Programming, Python Programming Bootcamp and Studio, Web Programming Studio, Introduction to Cyber Security, and Data Communication and Net-Centric Computing. These courses develop foundational technical skills, computational thinking, and the practical ability to design, implement, and test software solutions. Through hands-on projects and studio-based learning, students gain exposure to industry-standard programming languages, tools, and development environments.The second year expands students’ knowledge with 60 credit points in core courses such as Cloud Foundations, Essentials of IT and Ethics, Software Engineering Fundamentals for IT, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, and Systems Deployment and Operations. These subjects equip students with an understanding of cloud computing, ethical and professional responsibilities, software development methodologies, AI principles, and IT systems deployment. Alongside these core subjects, students complete 36 credit points from their selected combination, allowing specialisation in areas of interest such as cybersecurity, AI, data analytics, or software engineering.In the third year, students focus on applied and project-based learning with 36 credit points in Software Engineering Project Management, Programming Project 1, and Innovation Ecosystem and the Future of Work. These courses develop project management skills, collaborative problem-solving, and insight into technology innovation and workplace trends. Students also complete 60 credit points from their selected combination, further deepening their expertise in specialised IT areas.The fourth year offers two pathways: a full internship or a combined internship and professional development program. The internship pathway involves 96 credit points of practical industry experience and reflection courses, while the combined pathway includes professional development and entrepreneurship courses alongside industry experience. This structure ensures that graduates finish the program with advanced technical skills, real-world experience, professional competencies, and a strong foundation for IT careers or further study in rapidly evolving technology sectors.
