COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Technology program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in programming, networking, cybersecurity, and software development while equipping them with practical skills to tackle real-world IT challenges. In the first year, students complete 96 credit points across core subjects including Java Programming, Python Programming Bootcamp and Studio, Introduction to Cyber Security, Data Communication and Net-Centric Computing, and Web Programming Studio. These courses build essential technical skills, computational thinking, and a solid understanding of software development principles. The combination of theoretical learning and hands-on programming projects ensures students gain practical experience while mastering multiple programming languages and development environments.In the second year, students undertake 60 credit points of core IT courses such as Cloud Foundations, Essentials of IT and Ethics, Software Engineering Fundamentals for IT, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, and Systems Deployment and Operations. These courses expand students’ understanding of emerging technologies, software engineering practices, cloud computing, AI principles, and ethical considerations in technology. Alongside these core courses, students complete 36 credit points from their selected combination, allowing them to specialise in areas of interest such as cybersecurity, AI, data analytics, or software development.The third year focuses on project-based learning and applied skills, with 36 credit points dedicated to Software Engineering Project Management, Programming Project 1, and Innovation Ecosystem and the Future of Work. These courses emphasise practical problem-solving, teamwork, and understanding the impact of technology in professional and global contexts. Students develop advanced project management capabilities, learn to implement complex programming solutions, and gain insight into innovation strategies and emerging workplace trends.Overall, this structured progression from foundational programming and networking skills to advanced project management and specialised IT knowledge prepares graduates for diverse roles in software development, cybersecurity, AI, and IT systems management, as well as for further study or professional certifications in the rapidly evolving technology industry.
