COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Food Technology and Nutrition / Bachelor of Business at RMIT is a four-year double degree that combines scientific food studies with business education, requiring completion of a total of 432 credit points across both disciplines. For the Food Technology and Nutrition component, students complete 19 courses (228 credit points), including 5 core courses (60 credit points) and 14 courses from a selected study pathway. Students may choose either a Food Science and Technology major combined with a Nutrition Science minor, or a Nutrition Science major combined with a Food Science minor, along with two university electives to broaden their learning. For the Bachelor of Business component, students complete 17 courses (204 credit points), including 5 core business courses (60 credit points) and 12 courses from a chosen business pathway consisting of one major (96 credit points) and one minor (48 credit points). The program structure ensures that courses selected for a major or minor cannot be double-counted, maintaining academic integrity and depth of study. Across the four years of study, students progressively develop expertise in food science, nutrition, product development, and safety alongside strong foundations in business areas such as management, economics, finance, and marketing. This integrated structure prepares graduates for careers in food innovation, manufacturing, quality assurance, and global business management within the food industry.
