COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year, all majors begin with two core foundation subjects and a Foundation Studio in Semester 1. In Semester 2, students continue with one core subject and major-specific studio work. For example, the 2D Studio Practices major completes a 2D Studio Practices course and may select a minor or program option. Similarly, the 3D Studio Practices, Expanded Media Arts, and Photography majors follow a comparable structure, with Photography students taking two Photography Major Skills subjects in the second semester. Expanded Media Arts students also complete a specialized skills course alongside their studio work.Second YearIn the second year, Semester 3 and 4 integrate Art Theory with major-specific studio courses and skill development. 2D Studio Practices students take one Art Theory subject each semester along with studio work and optional minors or program options. 3D Studio Practices students also complete Skills and Themes courses each semester. Expanded Media Arts students continue with studio and skills courses alongside Art Theory subjects, while Photography majors complete two Photography Major subjects each semester.Third YearThe third year emphasizes advanced studio practice, professional development, and capstone experiences. Each major includes one core subject in Semester 5, continued studio work, and options for minors or program electives. Semester 6 focuses on the Fine Arts Capstone Studio and Fine Arts Professional Practice courses, which all majors undertake, integrating practical, theoretical, and professional skills. Photography students additionally complete one minor or program option alongside the capstone and professional practice.
