COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Digital Media at RMIT is designed to equip students with the technical, creative, and professional skills needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital media industry. In the first year, students complete six core courses that build foundational skills in digital production, video, sound design, media theory, and collaborative studio practice. The second year expands these skills through six core courses focused on experimentation, interactive media, client-based projects, digital narrative, and specialist digital media topics, allowing students to explore both creative and technical dimensions of the field. In the third year, students undertake advanced studio work and professional practice courses, developing expertise in a chosen area of specialisation. They then complete either a major project or an internship, providing practical, real-world experience and the opportunity to create a professional portfolio. This structure ensures graduates are prepared for diverse roles in digital media production, interactive media design, content creation, and related industries, combining technical proficiency, creative innovation, and professional readiness.
