COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Cyber Security (Professional) is a three-year program designed to develop both technical expertise and professional skills in cyber security. In the first year, students complete 96 credit points through core courses such as Python Programming Bootcamp and Studio, Introduction to Cyber Security, Data Communication and Net-Centric Computing, Security in Computing and Information Technology, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence for STEM, and Essentials of IT & Ethics, providing a strong foundation in programming, network security, ethical IT practices, and emerging technologies. The second year focuses on advanced technical knowledge with 84 credit points from courses including Cloud Foundations, Software Engineering Fundamentals for IT, Computer and Internet Forensics, Security Testing, Cloud Security, Blockchain Technology Fundamentals, and Secure Electronic Commerce, complemented by 12 credit points from a selected combination for specialisation. In the third year, students undertake 60 credit points through courses such as Innovation Ecosystem and the Future of Work, Cyber Security Attack Analysis and Incident Response, Software Engineering Project Management, Introduction to Cybersecurity Governance, and a Cyber Security Capstone Project. This structure ensures graduates gain the skills to analyse and respond to cyber threats, manage secure IT systems, and apply governance and ethical frameworks, while also developing problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and professional communication skills. The program prepares students for careers as IT or ICT practitioners, with the potential to progress into leadership roles in cyber security and related technology fields.
