COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Communication (Media) is a three-year program that blends practical media production, critical analysis, and industry-focused learning to develop skilled and adaptable media professionals. In the first year, students complete 60 credit points of core courses, including Media Cultures and Industries, Making Media, Media 2, and Country and Story, alongside 36 credit points from chosen minors or school options to tailor their studies. The second year builds on these foundations with 48 credit points from core courses, Media 3 and Media 4, while students also complete an additional 48 credit points from their selected minors or school options, allowing them to deepen their expertise in specific areas of interest. In the third and final year, students undertake 48 credit points of advanced courses, including Media 5, Media Capstone, and Media Futures, which focus on professional-level production, strategic communication, and forward-looking media practices. Throughout the program, students develop creative, technological, and analytical skills while producing a professional portfolio that demonstrates their capacity to innovate within a rapidly changing media environment. Graduates emerge as versatile communicators, capable of working across digital media, broadcasting, creative industries, and corporate communication, with strong problem-solving abilities and industry-ready experience.
