COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce at RMIT offers a three-year program designed to develop students’ understanding of modern business practices, digital technologies, and market dynamics. In the first year, students complete 96 credit points of core courses, including Enterprise AI and Business Analytics, Value-driven Marketing, Principles of the Economy, Responsible Leadership and Enterprise, International Business in the Digital Era, Digital Business Security and Risk Management, Financial Instruments and Technologies, and Business Law. These foundational courses introduce essential business knowledge, analytical skills, and insights into the digital economy. In the second year, students build on this foundation by completing 12 credit points in Navigating Australian Commerce in the Digital Age, along with 48 credit points from a chosen major and 24 credit points from a minor. Students also have the flexibility to select 12 credit points from any university elective, allowing them to tailor their learning according to their interests and career goals. In the third year, students complete the remaining 48 credit points from their chosen major and an additional 24 credit points from their minor, while selecting another 12 credit points as a university elective. The year concludes with the 12-credit-point capstone course, Future of Commerce Project, where students apply their knowledge to solve real-world business challenges and demonstrate practical problem-solving, analytical, and strategic skills. Across the program, students gain a balance of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and industry-relevant insights, preparing them for careers in corporate, government, or public sector roles, as well as equipping them to navigate the evolving digital economy with confidence.
