COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Architecture program is structured over three years, focusing on design, technology, history, and communication skills to prepare students for careers in architecture. In the first year, students complete 96 credit points through six compulsory courses at the City Campus, alongside mandatory onboarding modules in their first semester. These courses include Architecture Design Studio 1 (ARCH1000, 24 credit points), Architecture Communications 1 (ARCH3373, 12 credit points), Architecture History Introduction (ARCH1023, 12 credit points), Architecture Design Studio 2 (ARCH1001, 24 credit points), Architecture Communications 2 (ARCH1035, 12 credit points), and Architecture Technology 1 (ARCH1013, 12 credit points). These courses lay the foundation for design principles, communication techniques, and architectural history.In the second year, students undertake 96 credit points across six courses, all at the City Campus: Architecture Design Studio 3 (ARCH1002, 24 credit points), Architecture Communications 3 (ARCH1329, 12 credit points), History Western Architecture 20th Century (ARCH1026, 12 credit points), Architecture Design Studio 4 (ARCH1003, 24 credit points), Architecture Technology 2 (ARCH1015, 12 credit points), and Australian Architecture (ARCH1024, 12 credit points). This year builds on design skills, deepens technical knowledge, and introduces regional and historical architectural contexts.In the third year, students complete 72 credit points from four courses: Architecture Design Studio 5 (ARCH1004, 24 credit points), Architecture Technology 3 (ARCH1014, 12 credit points), Architecture Design Studio 6 (ARCH1006, 24 credit points), and Architecture Reflective Practice (ARCH1036, 12 credit points), all at the City Campus.
