COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Aviation program spans three years, combining core aviation courses with flexible elective options to prepare students for diverse roles in the aviation industry.In the first year, students must complete 96 credit points across eight compulsory courses, all at the City Campus, and a series of onboarding modules in their first semester. These courses include Introduction to Aviation (AERO2377), Human Factors in Aviation (AERO2379), Applied Analytics for Aviation (MATH2314), Airport Operations (AERO3342), Aviation Safety and Security Systems (AERO2384), Managing the Air Traffic Environment (AERO2631), Airline Operations (AERO2410), and Air Cargo Management and Operations (AERO2426), each worth 12 credit points.In the second year, students complete 48 credit points from four core courses: Aircraft Maintenance Management (AERO2457), Aviation Strategy in the Global Context (AERO2408), Airport Design (AERO2454), and Airport Planning and Management (AERO2382), each worth 12 credit points. Additionally, students choose 12 credit points from a Technical Option List (Aviation Professional Experience [AERO2582], Incident and Accident Investigation [AERO2570], or Unmanned Aerial System Operations [AERO2481]) or from a Minor List. International students are restricted from enrolling in AERO2582 due to visa limitations. Students also complete either 36 credit points from the Minor List or 24 credit points from the Minor List plus 12 credit points from any University.In the third year, students complete 12 credit points from the Aviation Industry Project (AERO2431) and an additional 12 credit points from either the Technical Option List (same options as year two) or the Minor List, with the same visa restriction for AERO2582. This structure ensures a blend of technical aviation knowledge and flexible electives, preparing students for varied aviation careers.
