COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Accounting / Bachelor of Business at RMIT is a structured double degree requiring the completion of 384 credit points (approximately 32 courses), designed to develop strong expertise in both accounting and broader business disciplines. The program is built to ensure students gain a balanced combination of technical accounting knowledge and versatile business skills applicable across multiple industries. Students begin by completing four Business Foundation courses (48 credit points) and four Accounting Foundation courses (48 credit points), which establish core understanding in areas such as business operations, economics, finance, and introductory accounting principles. The degree then progresses into nine Accounting core courses (108 credit points), which deepen knowledge in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, taxation, and related professional areas. Students also complete two capstone courses (24 credit points), including one focused on accounting and one on business, where they apply their learning to complex, real-world problems. The remaining 156 credit points are completed through a combination of Business Option courses and University Electives, allowing students to tailor their studies to specific interests or career goals such as finance, marketing, management, or analytics. This flexible structure ensures graduates develop strong analytical, financial, and strategic skills, preparing them for careers in accounting, business consulting, corporate management, and financial services, as well as providing a pathway toward professional accreditation and further study.
