COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Accounting program is structured over three years, with a clear progression of courses designed to build foundational and advanced skills in accounting, law, and business. In the first year, students complete 96 credit points through eight compulsory courses, all delivered at the City Campus. These include Business Decision Making (BUSM2567), Understanding the Business Environment (BUSM2562), Accounting in Organisations and Society (ACCT1046), Business Law (LAW2442), Financial Accounting and Analysis (ACCT2033), Economics and Quantitative Analysis (ECON1607), Business in Society (BUSM2572), and Integrated Perspectives on Business Problems (BUSM2577), each worth 12 credit points. Additionally, students must complete compulsory onboarding modules in their first semester to orient them to the program.In the second year, students undertake 72 credit points from six core courses: Accounting Data Analytics and Visualisation (ACCT2343), Company and Finance Law (LAW2450), Cost Analysis and Organisational Decisions (ACCT1064), Managerial Advisory Finance (ACCT1060), Financial Accountability and Reporting (ACCT1048), and Taxation 1 (LAW2453), each worth 12 credit points. Students then choose one of three options to complete an additional 24 credit points: Option 1 involves selecting courses from Financial Planning Options, Option 2 from Accounting and Law Options, or Option 3 from a designated Minor, as listed at the end of the program structure.In the third year, students complete 36 credit points from three core courses: Accounting, Behaviour and Organisations (ACCT1014), Critical Accounting Perspectives (ACCT1077), and Auditing (ACCT1056), each worth 12 credit points. They also complete a final 12-credit-point course, Strategic Accounting and Leadership (ACCT1028).
