COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Professional Psychology consists of a total of 48 credit points, all of which are completed through required core units designed to develop advanced professional capabilities. The program includes a diverse range of subjects that cover theoretical knowledge, practical skills, assessment techniques, and supervised professional experience. Students begin with foundational units such as Graduate Seminar in Psychology, Advanced Psychological Assessment, and Psychology: Principles and Processes of Psychological Intervention, which together strengthen understanding of key psychological concepts and assessment methods. The course includes a substantial research component through the 12-credit Psychology Project, allowing students to engage deeply with a topic of professional relevance. Practical skill development is supported through units such as Psychology: Practical Skills and Psychotherapy in Practice, which help students build competencies needed for client work. The program places strong emphasis on applied learning through two practicum units: Practicum 1 and Practicum 2, the latter of which is a workplace internship providing real-world experience in professional psychology settings. Specialized units, including Clinical Psychology: Working with Children and Families, Clinical Psychology: Working with Adults, and Clinical Psychology: Advanced Research Methods, offer further training for students who wish to enhance their clinical understanding and applied research abilities. Additional units such as Work and Well-being expand students’ knowledge of psychology in organizational and occupational contexts. Overall, the structure provides a comprehensive and integrated learning experience that prepares graduates with the theoretical grounding, practical skills, and supervised experience necessary for future professional practice in psychology.
