COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined MBA and Master of Health Care Management consists of 48 credit points of core study, equally divided between MBA (24 credit points) and Health Care Management (24 credit points) units. The MBA component develops essential business and leadership capabilities through subjects such as Strategic Marketing Management, Organisational Behaviour and Management, Financial Decision-Making Essentials, Leading the Engaged Enterprise, and Strategies for Growth and Excellence. These units strengthen students’ skills in strategic planning, financial management, organizational leadership, marketing, and business growth, preparing them to lead complex healthcare organizations effectively. The Health Care Management component focuses on developing advanced knowledge of healthcare systems, governance, research, and innovation. Students study Safety and Quality in Health Care, Bioethics and Law for Health Care Leadership, Health Policy in Australia and Beyond, Applied Health Research Methods: From Research to Practice, Literature Review for Health Care Research, Proposing Research in Health Care, Managing Innovation and Digital Technologies in Health Care, and Clinical Governance. These units equip graduates with expertise in patient safety, ethical and legal decision-making, healthcare policy, research methodology, digital transformation, and governance within healthcare settings. Together, the curriculum provides a balanced combination of business management and healthcare leadership competencies, enabling graduates to effectively manage healthcare organizations, improve service quality, lead organizational change, and contribute to evidence-based decision-making in modern healthcare environments.
