COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business combined degree at Murdoch University consists of 120 credit points, integrating comprehensive legal education with specialised business studies. The Law component includes 75 credit points, comprising 54 credit points of required units covering Foundations of Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Torts, Contract Law, Property Law, Constitutional Law, Equity, Trusts, Australian Administrative Law, Civil Procedure, Corporations Law, Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and Skills for Legal Practice. Students also complete 21 credit points of specified law electives, enabling them to deepen their knowledge in selected legal areas. The Business component includes 12 credit points of core units in Management in a Global Environment, Global Marketing, Introduction to Accounting, and Foundations of Economics, providing a strong understanding of business operations and commercial principles. Students then complete a 24-credit-point major in a chosen discipline such as Accounting, Finance, Human Resources Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, or Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The course also includes a Discovery Study unit and option units that offer additional flexibility and interdisciplinary learning opportunities. This integrated curriculum develops legal expertise alongside commercial, financial, and managerial skills, preparing graduates for careers in corporate law, commercial practice, business consulting, finance, compliance, government, entrepreneurship, and leadership across diverse industries.
