COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Technology and Business is a 72-credit-point degree designed to integrate core business knowledge with essential information technology skills, ensuring graduates can operate effectively at the intersection of technology and organisational strategy. The course core consists of 69 credit points, including 63 credit points of required units that build strong foundations in global management, accounting, business law, economics, information systems, programming, data science, project management, international business, change management, organisational behaviour, systems analysis and design, database management, information systems management, strategic management and digital marketing. Students also complete advanced IT and business-focused units such as the IT Professional Practice Project, Advanced Business Analysis and Design and Business Intelligence Application Development, which reinforce applied learning and real-world problem-solving. In addition to the required units, students choose 6 credit points of specified electives from options that include service management experience, IT certification pathways, structured workplace learning, or professional communication units such as writing for professional contexts, public presenting, or consulting and freelancing. The structure also includes a 3-credit-point Discovery Study unit, giving students an opportunity to explore an interdisciplinary topic or broaden their skills beyond their primary field. Overall, the degree provides a strong combination of technical understanding, analytical capability and business strategy knowledge, preparing graduates for roles in business analysis, IT management, systems administration, organisational analysis and other emerging fields that rely on professionals who can bridge business needs with technological solutions.
