COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Criminology and Bachelor of Science combined degree at Murdoch University consists of 96 credit points, integrating criminological studies with specialised knowledge in forensic biology and toxicology. The course includes 27 credit points of core units, with the Criminology component covering essential areas such as Criminology in Context, Policing and Crime Prevention, Technology, Crime and Justice, and Culture, Diversity and Crime. Students also complete specified criminology electives to broaden their understanding of crime, justice, and social issues. The Forensic Biology and Toxicology component introduces students to scientific foundations through units such as Succeeding in Science and Introduction to the Human Body, along with specialised electives including Forensic Science and Miscarriages of Justice, Genetic Engineering, Haematology, Clinical Biochemistry, Applied Statistics, and Biostatistics. Students complete 54 credit points of majors, including a 30-credit-point major in Forensic Biology and Toxicology and a 24-credit-point criminology major. Within criminology, students can specialise in Criminal Behaviour, Crime Science, or Legal Studies, allowing them to align their studies with their career goals.
