COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Criminology and Bachelor of Global Security comprises 96 credit points, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of crime, justice, and contemporary security issues. The course begins with 15 credit points of core studies, including Criminology in Context, Policing and Crime Prevention, Technology, Crime and Justice, and Culture, Diversity and Crime, alongside a criminology specified elective that allows students to broaden their knowledge in an area of interest. Students then complete two 24-credit-point majors, one in Criminology and one in Global Security. Within Criminology, students can specialise in Criminal Behaviour, Crime Science, or Legal Studies, gaining expertise in criminal psychology, forensic investigation, legal systems, or crime prevention. For the Global Security component, students choose from Cyberspace, Policy and Security, Environment, Conflict and Security, Politics and International Studies, or Terrorism and Counterterrorism Studies, enabling them to explore emerging global threats, international relations, cybersecurity, environmental security, or counterterrorism strategies. The program also includes a Discovery Study unit that encourages interdisciplinary learning and 30 credit points of optional units, providing flexibility to develop specialised knowledge or complementary skills. This balanced curriculum equips graduates with strong analytical, investigative, legal, and policy-making capabilities for careers in law enforcement, intelligence, border security, government, and international security organisations.
