COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Criminology at Murdoch University consists of 72 credit points, providing students with a flexible structure to develop expertise in crime, justice, and criminal behaviour. The course includes 15 credit points of core study, beginning with required units such as Criminology in Context, Policing and Crime Prevention, Technology, Crime and Justice, and Culture, Diversity and Crime. Students also complete a specified elective that allows them to explore specialised topics such as Crime Through the Ages or International and Transnational Crimes, expanding their understanding of historical, global, and contemporary crime issues. The program includes a 24-credit-point criminology major, with students choosing from Criminal Behaviour, Crime Science, or Legal Studies to focus on areas aligned with their career interests. A Discovery Study unit encourages interdisciplinary learning, while 30 credit points of options provide flexibility through additional majors, co-majors, minors, or general electives. Students can further enhance their studies through recommended areas such as Indigenous Knowledges and Practices, supporting broader perspectives on justice, society, and cultural diversity.
