COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Public Health (Public Health stream) requires completion of 96 credit points structured across Discipline studies, Foundation studies, Specialist core studies, and Specialist elective studies. Part A, Discipline studies (24 credit points), introduces key public health concepts and provides a broad understanding of population health, health systems, and the social, environmental, and structural determinants of health. This establishes the context for understanding how health outcomes are shaped across different populations. Part B, Foundation studies (24 credit points), develops essential methodological and analytical skills in epidemiology, biostatistics, and research methods, enabling students to collect, interpret, and critically evaluate health data. Part C, Specialist core studies (30 credit points), focuses on advanced public health practice, including quantitative and qualitative research methods, health equity, and strategies for addressing complex and interrelated health challenges in both developed and developing settings. Students also develop leadership and collaboration skills to support effective public health action. Part D, Specialist elective studies (18 credit points), allows students to tailor their studies to specific interests such as global health, health promotion, health policy, or advanced research methods. Overall, this 96-credit-point structure equips graduates with strong analytical, practical, and leadership capabilities, preparing them for roles in public health practice, research, and policy where they can contribute to improving population health outcomes and promoting equity across diverse communities and health systems.
