COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Chemical Engineering requires completion of structured coursework across 144 credit points, divided into five key parts: Foundation specialist studies, Core specialist studies, Elective specialist studies, Research studies, and Professional practice. Part A, Foundation specialist studies (48 credit points), builds essential knowledge in chemical engineering principles and prepares students for advanced study within their chosen specialisation. Part B, Core specialist studies (48 credit points), focuses on developing deeper expertise in chemical engineering, strengthening understanding of key areas such as thermodynamics, reaction engineering, fluid dynamics, and process systems. Part C, Elective specialist studies (24 credit points), allows students to tailor their learning through additional chemical engineering electives aligned with their interests and career goals. Part D, Research studies (18 credit points), develops advanced analytical and investigative skills through ENG5001 Advanced Data Analytics for Engineers, ENG5005 Research Methods, and ENG5006 Research Practice, enabling students to conduct structured engineering research and apply data-driven solutions. Part E, Professional practice (6 credit points), focuses on professional development through ENG5100 Professional Engineer in Organisation and Society, alongside ENG0003 Professional Engineering Continuous Professional Development, which supports lifelong learning and industry readiness. Together, these components create a balanced program combining theoretical knowledge, technical expertise, research capability, and professional skills.
