COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Chemical Engineering requires completion of 96 credit points, structured across Part B, Part C, Part D, and Part E. Part B, Core specialist studies (48 credit points), develops advanced knowledge in chemical engineering, strengthening expertise in key areas such as thermodynamics, reaction engineering, fluid dynamics, separation processes, and process systems. This component ensures students gain strong technical depth within their chosen specialisation. Part C, Elective specialist studies (24 credit points), allows students to further tailor their learning through chemical engineering electives aligned with their academic interests and career goals, supporting deeper engagement with specialised topics. Part D, Research studies (18 credit points), focuses on building research and analytical capability through three core units: ENG5001 Advanced Data Analytics for Engineers, ENG5005 Research Methods, and ENG5006 Research Practice. These units equip students with skills in data analysis, engineering research design, and evidence-based problem-solving. Part E, Professional practice (6 credit points), develops professional awareness and industry readiness through ENG5100 Professional Engineer in Organisation and Society, along with ENG0003 Professional Engineering Continuous Professional Development, which supports ongoing professional learning. Together, these components provide a balanced program that integrates technical knowledge, research skills, and professional development, preparing graduates for advanced roles in chemical engineering practice, research, and industry leadership.
