COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Pharmaceutical Science requires completion of 96 credit points and is structured into four complementary components: Part A Core Foundation Studies (24 credit points), Part B Core Case Studies (24 credit points), Part C Advanced Studies (24 credit points), and Part D Professional Practice (24 credit points). The Core Foundation Studies component provides essential knowledge of contemporary pharmaceutical science, including the scientific principles that underpin drug discovery, development, formulation, and therapeutic application. The Core Case Studies component builds on this foundation by using real-world examples and industry-relevant scenarios to examine the challenges, decision-making processes, and regulatory considerations involved in pharmaceutical development. Through these case studies, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations. The Advanced Studies component allows students to deepen their expertise in specialised areas of pharmaceutical science, including advanced analytical techniques, formulation science, research methodologies, modelling, and emerging developments in the field. The Professional Practice component provides valuable industry-focused learning through a capstone experience that includes an extended placement in a pharmaceutical, research, or related organisation. This practical experience enables students to integrate and apply their knowledge in a professional environment while gaining exposure to industry practices and expectations. Together, these four components create a balanced program that combines scientific knowledge, applied learning, advanced technical skills, and workplace experience, preparing graduates for successful careers in pharmaceutical science and related industries.
