COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Artificial Intelligence at Monash University requires the completion of 96 credit points and is structured to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in designing, building, and managing intelligent systems. Part A, Foundation Studies (24 credit points), provides essential grounding in key areas of artificial intelligence, including programming fundamentals, data analysis, mathematics for AI, and introductory machine learning concepts. This foundation ensures students are well prepared for more advanced technical and theoretical study. Part B, Core Studies (48 credit points), forms the central component of the program and focuses on advanced artificial intelligence topics such as deep learning, machine learning, knowledge representation and reasoning, optimisation techniques, and intelligent system design. Students also explore ethical, legal, and societal implications of AI, ensuring responsible and human-centred development of technology. Part C, Applied Studies (24 credit points), provides hands-on experience where students apply AI concepts to real-world problems through projects, case studies, and industry-aligned tasks.
