COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Architecture at Monash University is a professionally accredited postgraduate program designed to develop advanced architectural knowledge, design capability, and research skills, preparing students for architectural practice and registration. The degree requires the completion of 144 credit points and is structured to progressively build foundational knowledge, critical understanding, and specialised disciplinary expertise. Part A, Foundations (48 credit points), introduces core architectural principles, including design thinking, spatial concepts, construction methods, sustainability, and technical skills essential for architectural practice. This stage ensures students develop a strong base in both creative and technical aspects of architecture. Part C, Critical Contexts (6 credit points), focuses on understanding architecture within broader social, cultural, environmental, and historical frameworks, encouraging students to critically evaluate the role of design in shaping society.
