COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Advanced Medical Engineering at Monash University requires the completion of 96 credit points and is structured to provide advanced engineering expertise, specialised medical technology knowledge, and practical or research-based experience. Part A, Core Studies (24 credit points), develops advanced engineering capabilities, professional skills, leadership, innovation, and problem-solving techniques that form the foundation of contemporary engineering practice. Part B, Specialist Studies in Medical Engineering (36 credit points), focuses on the integration of engineering and biomedical sciences. Students gain in-depth knowledge of biomaterials, biomechanics, tissue engineering, nanotechnology, drug delivery systems, medical devices, and advanced manufacturing methods such as additive manufacturing. This component also examines the development, regulation, and commercialisation of medical technologies, preparing students to contribute to healthcare innovation.
