COURSE CURRICULUM

The Juris Doctor (JD) requires completion of 144 credit points, structured across two main components: Part A Core studies (96 credit points) and Part B Specified electives (48 credit points). The Core studies form the foundation of the degree and provide comprehensive training in essential areas of law required for legal practice in Australia. This includes the development of key legal knowledge, analytical reasoning, and practical skills, as well as an understanding of ethical responsibilities in the legal profession. Through these core units, students gain a strong grounding in fundamental areas of law and build the capacity to interpret, apply, and critically evaluate legal principles in a range of contexts. The Specified electives component allows students to broaden or deepen their legal knowledge by selecting from a range of advanced and specialised law units.
