COURSE CURRICULUM
The Bachelor of Psychology requires the completion of 144 credit points, structured across three key parts that combine core psychological science, specialised study, and elective learning. Part A, the APAC level 1-accredited sequence (60 credit points), provides the essential foundation in psychology, covering key areas such as developmental, social, cognitive, and biological psychology, along with research methods and statistical analysis. This accredited sequence ensures students gain rigorous training in scientific approaches to understanding human behaviour and meets the requirements set by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. Part B, Discipline Streams (54 credit points), allows students to deepen their expertise in specific areas of psychology, such as mental health, neuroscience, public health, or applied psychology. This component enables students to tailor their studies to align with their interests and career aspirations while building advanced knowledge in selected fields. Part C, Elective Studies (30 credit points), provides flexibility for students to broaden their learning beyond core psychology content or explore complementary disciplines. These electives help strengthen transferable skills such as communication, critical thinking, and research application. The combination of 60, 54, and 30 credit points creates a well-rounded and structured psychology qualification. By completing all 144 credit points, graduates develop strong scientific, analytical, and research skills, preparing them for further study in psychology, including pathways toward professional accreditation, as well as careers in mental health, community services, human resources, education, research, and other fields that involve understanding human behaviour.
