COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics equips students with the intellectual and professional capabilities needed to understand and influence complex global issues. On completion of the course, students are able to identify and evaluate the major theoretical frameworks and investigative methods across the three disciplines, while also analysing how these fields intersect to shape policy, institutions and decision-making. They learn to apply disciplinary theories to real-world problems, producing innovative and practical solutions tailored to diverse audiences and contexts. The degree builds strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning and communication skills, enabling students to construct persuasive arguments and engage in ethical and collaborative scholarship or professional practice. Graduates are also expected to demonstrate the competencies necessary for responsible global citizenship. The course is structured across four parts. Part A develops foundational knowledge in politics, philosophy and economics, introducing students to the social, economic and political dynamics that define contemporary challenges. Parts B and C provide deeper disciplinary and specialist studies aligned with the student’s chosen area of focus, strengthening their ability to analyse, communicate and apply complex concepts. Part D offers flexible elective options that allow students to explore additional areas of interest, undertake study tours, internships, exchanges or participate in enrichment programs. Students who meet the academic requirements may also enter the Bachelor + Masters accelerated pathway, enabling them to replace elective units with master’s-level study and progress seamlessly into a related postgraduate degree. The full program comprises 144 credit points, distributed across core studies, foundation units, specialist studies and electives, providing both structure and academic freedom.
