COURSE CURRICULUM
The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Psychology double degree requires the completion of 252 credit points, consisting of 156 credit points in the Law component and 96 credit points in the Psychology component. The Law component provides students with a comprehensive grounding in the Australian legal system and develops essential skills in legal reasoning, research, analysis, advocacy, and professional communication. Students study core areas such as constitutional law, criminal law, contract law, property law, administrative law, and legal ethics, along with opportunities to undertake specialised legal electives that deepen their understanding of legal principles and practice. This component prepares students for professional legal pathways and further legal training. The Psychology component is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and offers a structured study of human behaviour, cognition, and mental processes. Students explore areas such as developmental psychology, social psychology, biological psychology, personality, and research methods, gaining insight into how biological, psychological, and social factors influence behaviour and wellbeing. The combination of 156 credit points in Law and 96 credit points in Psychology creates an interdisciplinary qualification that integrates legal expertise with an understanding of human behaviour. By completing all 252 credit points, graduates develop strong analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for careers in law, psychology-related fields, criminal justice, social services, policy development, human services, and other roles where legal knowledge and psychological insight are highly valuable.
