COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Global Studies and Bachelor of Information Technology double degree requires the completion of 192 credit points, structured into two equal components: a 96 credit point Global Studies component and a 96 credit point Information Technology component. This structure allows students to develop both a strong understanding of global social, political, and cultural systems alongside practical and technical IT skills. The Global Studies component focuses on building capabilities in leadership for social change, critical thinking, intercultural communication, teamwork, and analytical writing. Students examine the relationships between local, regional, and global forces and learn how to apply interdisciplinary perspectives to real-world global challenges. A key feature of this component is global mobility, where students participate in study abroad or virtual international experiences that enhance their cultural understanding and global awareness. The Information Technology component provides training in computing systems, software development, data management, and digital technologies. Students gain practical skills in programming, systems design, and IT applications used across business, government, and industry. They also have opportunities to specialise through majors such as software development, cybersecurity, games and immersive media, or business information systems. By combining these two areas, the degree prepares graduates to work in roles that require both global insight and technical capability. Upon completing the 192 credit points, graduates are well prepared for careers in IT industries, international organisations, policy development, digital innovation, and global technology-focused roles.
