COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Art History and Curating specialisation) requires the completion of 144 credit points, combining structured coursework with focused study in visual culture and curatorial practice. Within this program, the Art History and Curating specialisation accounts for 96 credit points and forms the core of the degree. Through this specialisation, students develop a deep understanding of art history, visual analysis, and the cultural, social, and theoretical contexts that shape artistic production and reception. The curriculum explores key periods, movements, and ideas in art history while also engaging with contemporary debates in visual culture and criticism. Students are trained in curatorial theory and practice, learning how artworks are selected, interpreted, and presented within exhibition spaces such as galleries, museums, and cultural institutions. The program also develops strong research, writing, and analytical skills, enabling students to critically engage with artworks and articulate informed perspectives on visual culture. By combining historical knowledge with practical curatorial training, students gain the ability to connect theory with practice in meaningful ways.
