COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Computer Science double degree requires the completion of 240 credit points and integrates advanced engineering education with comprehensive studies in computing and software systems. The Engineering component consists of 144 credit points and provides students with a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, design, and engineering principles, followed by specialised study in a chosen discipline such as electrical and computer systems engineering or software engineering. This component develops skills in systems thinking, problem-solving, modelling, and the design of complex engineering solutions across hardware and software environments. The Computer Science component consists of 96 credit points and focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of computing, including programming, algorithms, data structures, software development, artificial intelligence, databases, and data analysis. Students learn how to design efficient software systems and apply computational methods to solve real-world engineering and data-driven problems. The combination of both components enables students to work across the full technology stack, from physical engineering systems to advanced software applications and data analytics. Upon completion of all 240 credit points, graduates are well prepared for careers in software engineering, systems development, data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and other technology-intensive industries. The degree also supports further study and research in computing and engineering fields, equipping graduates with strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills needed in a rapidly evolving digital world.
