COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts double degree requires the completion of 240 credit points, designed to provide a balanced education across both technical engineering disciplines and the humanities and social sciences. The Engineering component consists of 144 credit points and includes a structured program of study in a chosen engineering specialisation such as civil, mechanical, software, electrical, chemical, or environmental engineering. This component develops strong foundations in mathematics, science, design, and engineering principles, followed by advanced study in areas such as systems design, analysis, modelling, and applied engineering problem-solving. Students gain the technical expertise required to design, develop, and manage complex engineering solutions in real-world contexts. The Arts component consists of 96 credit points and allows students to explore a wide range of disciplines across the humanities, social sciences, and languages. Students can select majors and minors in areas such as politics, international studies, communication, history, sociology, psychology, and more, enabling them to build critical thinking, research, and communication skills. The combination of both components creates a highly versatile qualification that blends technical knowledge with an understanding of social, cultural, and global issues. This integrated structure prepares graduates for diverse career pathways in engineering industries as well as roles in policy, consulting, communications, government, and leadership. By completing all 240 credit points, students graduate with strong analytical ability, professional communication skills, and the adaptability needed for complex, multidisciplinary careers in a rapidly changing global environment.
