COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Education (Honours) double degree requires the completion of 204 credit points, combining a strong professional education foundation with comprehensive study in business. The Education component consists of 108 credit points and focuses on developing the knowledge, skills, and professional capabilities needed to become an effective teacher. This includes core studies in educational theory, child and adolescent development, pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment practices, inclusive education, and classroom management. Students also undertake structured curriculum and teaching method units that prepare them to deliver engaging learning experiences across different educational settings and age groups, depending on their chosen pathway. The Business component consists of 96 credit points and provides a broad understanding of key business disciplines such as accounting, economics, finance, marketing, management, business law, and business strategy. Students can tailor their studies by selecting majors or areas of interest within business, allowing them to build specialist knowledge alongside their education training. Together, these components create a balanced qualification that integrates teaching expertise with strong commercial and analytical skills. The program also includes supervised professional experience placements in school environments, where students apply theoretical learning in real classrooms and develop practical teaching competencies.
