COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Digital Business and Bachelor of Information Technology double degree requires the completion of 192 credit points, ensuring students meet the full academic requirements of both single degrees. The program is evenly split, with 96 credit points completed in the Bachelor of Digital Business and 96 credit points completed in the Bachelor of Information Technology. For the Digital Business component, students must complete all requirements outlined in Parts A and B of the single degree, which cover key areas such as digital transformation, data analytics, business strategy, and the application of emerging technologies in modern organisations. The Information Technology component also requires completion of all Parts A and B of the single degree, with a restriction that no more than 36 credit points can be taken at Level 1, ensuring progression into advanced study. Students develop technical expertise in areas such as programming, systems development, cybersecurity, software engineering, and data-driven solutions. There are also specific academic rules, including exemptions for students who choose a Business Information Systems major, where FIT1006 is replaced by a Level 3 elective due to overlapping foundational content. The program may also incorporate Flagship Rich Educational Experiences (FREE), such as research, experimentation, discovery, and the Monash Innovation Guarantee, which can be credited as part of the degree with faculty approval. Overall, the structure ensures students gain both strong business and technical capabilities, preparing them for advanced careers in digital innovation, IT systems, data analytics, and technology-driven business environments.
