COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Media Communication double degree requires the completion of 192 credit points, with the program evenly divided between the two disciplines to ensure a balanced and interdisciplinary education. The Design component consists of 96 credit points and focuses on developing specialist skills in areas such as Communication Design, Industrial Design, Spatial Design, or Collaborative Design. Through studio-based learning, students build capabilities in design thinking, visual communication, prototyping, and user-centred problem-solving, enabling them to create innovative and effective solutions for real-world challenges. The Media Communication component also comprises 96 credit points and develops advanced skills in written, visual, and audio communication across a range of platforms. Students study how media messages are created, interpreted, and distributed, gaining knowledge in areas such as journalism, public relations, digital media, advertising, and corporate communication. Together, the two components form an interdisciplinary program that blends creative design practice with strategic communication skills, preparing graduates for dynamic roles in modern media and creative industries. Throughout the degree, students develop important transferable skills including communication, teamwork, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning.
