COURSE CURRICULUM
The Bachelor of Criminology and Bachelor of Information Technology double degree requires the completion of 192 credit points, with the program evenly divided between the two disciplines to ensure a balanced and interdisciplinary education. The Criminology component consists of 96 credit points and focuses on understanding crime, justice systems, social control, and the broader social factors that influence criminal behaviour. Students study topics such as victimisation, policing, courts, corrections, inequality, and the role of law in society, while also developing the ability to critically evaluate evidence, analyse policy, and understand how crime is defined and managed in different contexts. The Information Technology component also comprises 96 credit points and develops technical expertise in computing and digital systems, including programming, data analysis, cybersecurity, systems design, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital forensics tools. This component equips students with practical skills to work with modern technologies used across industries. Together, the two components create a powerful interdisciplinary program that connects an understanding of human behaviour and justice systems with advanced technical capabilities. Throughout the degree, students develop important transferable skills including communication, critical thinking, research, problem-solving, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and digital literacy. The structure ensures all academic requirements are met while building depth in both fields. Upon completion of all 192 credit points, graduates earn both a Bachelor of Criminology and a Bachelor of Information Technology, opening diverse career pathways in law enforcement support, cybercrime investigation, digital forensics, policy analysis, and technology-driven justice and security roles.
