COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Bachelor of Design is a four-year double degree program comprising a total of 192 credit points, with 96 credit points dedicated to Architectural Studies and 96 credit points dedicated to Design. The Architectural Studies component provides students with a strong foundation in architectural design, theory, technology, sustainability, and the social, environmental, political, and economic factors that influence the built environment. Through studio-based learning and practical project work, students develop creative, analytical, and technical skills necessary for addressing contemporary architectural challenges. The Design component complements this learning by allowing students to build expertise in a chosen design specialisation, such as Collaborative Design, Communication Design, or Industrial Design. Students gain knowledge and practical experience in design thinking, innovation, visual communication, user-centred design, and creative problem-solving. The balanced structure of the program encourages interdisciplinary learning and enables students to integrate architectural and design perspectives when developing solutions to complex real-world issues. Throughout the degree, students engage in hands-on projects that reflect professional practice and prepare them for industry expectations. By combining architectural studies with design education, the program develops versatile graduates who possess both technical competence and creative capability, equipping them for a wide range of careers across architecture, design, innovation, and the broader built environment sector.
