COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Public Health (MPH) is structured to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills required to address complex and evolving global health challenges. The program begins with a 40-credit-point Foundation Zone designed to build essential understanding through core units such as Foundations of Public Health, Determinants of Health, Academic Communications in Public Health, and Public Health Project Management. These units establish a strong base in public health principles, communication, and organisational skills. The Core Zone, worth 80 credit points, develops advanced expertise through essential units including Research Methodologies in Health, Introduction to Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Systems Science in Healthcare, Leadership, Teamwork and Advocacy, Healthcare Economics for Leaders, and a Public Health Capstone. Students also complete electives such as Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Inclusive Health, Program Planning and Evaluation in Health Promotion, or Global Nutrition and Food Security, allowing them to specialise in key public health areas. The Flexible Zone of 40 credit points further enables interdisciplinary learning through subjects like Environmental Health, Global Health, Health Law, Policy Studies, Sustainability, Media and Communication Strategies, and Research Project Management. Overall, the program prepares graduates to analyse health data, design effective interventions, influence policy, and lead public health initiatives in government, healthcare systems, research institutions, and global health organisations.
