COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of International Relations and Master of Strategy and Security double degree provides a structured and interdisciplinary curriculum that combines global political analysis with advanced security and strategic expertise. The Master of International Relations develops students’ understanding of international relations theory and its application to real-world issues such as technology, security, migration, international political economy, and environmental politics. Through this program, students examine how international debates shape policy decisions, institutional responses, and cross-border dynamics, while gaining insight into the complex forces influencing global governance. Complementing this, the Master of Strategy and Security allows students to specialise in one of three key areas: Counter Terrorism, Defence and Strategy, or Cyber Intelligence. The Counter Terrorism specialisation focuses on identifying, preventing, and responding to terrorism and violent extremism through intelligence-led and policy-driven approaches. Defence and Strategy develops expertise in military planning, geopolitical analysis, international security, and defence policy, preparing graduates for strategic leadership roles. The Cyber Intelligence specialisation focuses on digital security, cyber threats, intelligence analysis, and technological risk in an increasingly digital world. Together, the two degrees equip students with advanced analytical, research, policy, and leadership skills, preparing them for careers in diplomacy, intelligence agencies, defence organisations, international institutions, and global security and policy environments where complex decision-making and strategic thinking are essential.
