COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Information Systems Management curriculum provides a comprehensive combination of technical knowledge, management capability and strategic leadership required to manage modern information systems in complex organisational environments. The foundation zone develops essential competencies in database systems, application modelling and development, enterprise systems integration and IT systems and project management, providing students with a strong understanding of how business technologies are designed, implemented and maintained. Building on this foundation, the core zone focuses on advanced topics including security management, information systems design, enterprise application integration, project and risk management, enterprise management and strategic project management. Students also complete a major project that enables them to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills to solve real-world information systems challenges. The flexible zone further broadens expertise through units in social media marketing, cyber warfare, cyber crime and methods, and cyber threat intelligence, allowing students to strengthen their understanding of digital communication, cybersecurity risks and emerging threats affecting organisations. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, analytical, leadership and project management skills while gaining practical experience in aligning technology with business objectives. The curriculum prepares graduates to lead digital transformation initiatives, manage enterprise information systems, oversee cybersecurity strategies and support organisational innovation, equipping them for senior roles in information systems management, IT consulting, business analysis and technology leadership across diverse industries.
