COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Criminology and Master of Strategy and Security double degree offers a multidisciplinary curriculum that combines advanced criminological knowledge with specialised expertise in security and strategic studies. The Master of Criminology provides students with a strong understanding of crime, justice systems, criminal behaviour, social inequality, ethics, and evidence-based policy while developing critical analytical and research skills to address contemporary justice challenges. Complementing this, the Master of Strategy and Security allows students to specialise in one of three key areas: Counter Terrorism, Defence and Strategy, or Cyber Intelligence. The Counter Terrorism specialisation focuses on preventing and responding to terrorism, violent extremism, and national security threats. Defence and Strategy develops expertise in military strategy, international security, geopolitical analysis, and defence policy, preparing graduates for strategic planning and decision-making roles. The Cyber Intelligence specialisation equips students with knowledge of cyber threats, digital security, intelligence analysis, and risk management in an increasingly technology-driven environment. Together, the two degrees provide a balanced combination of criminology, security studies, strategic analysis, leadership, and policy development, enabling graduates to address complex global challenges through ethical and evidence-based approaches. The program prepares students for careers in law enforcement, intelligence agencies, defence organisations, cybersecurity, corrections, public policy, international security, risk management, and government or private sector security organisations while developing the adaptability needed in rapidly evolving security environments.
